"We saw a press release about the new VertDrums, made by Percussive Innovations, right before coming to NAMM, but couldn't connect the dots until we tried them in person.  VertDrums are double headed drums. . . designed to be mounted vertically, one right above the other, with the highest pitch on top. 

When angled radically in toward the player, you can sweep a drumstick down the stack, and hit every drum very quickly in a sequence.  The technique took no time to master, and we quickly came up with a bunch of cool patterns."
